Presbytery Meeting Information
At
the February presbytery meeting we are once again trying to collect for Care Packages to our
military chaplains in fulltime service in response to such emails as:
"At my current duty station I have no budget, so Bibles to be
handed out would be nice. I give my own away often...stuffed animals for kids
whose parents are deployed would be nice. I have 14 squadrons who deploy often,
creating great stress on families. I had a memorial service for a young sailor
today who took his life. A father of 4 whose wife threatened to divorce him, he
didn't take failing at his marriage well, and didn't reach out for help. I take
it personal when we lose a sailor, and so does our senior leadership. Thanks
for keeping us in your prayers."
We are collecting money for Bibles and shipping, and we
ask that your congregation also collect new, small stuffed animals for the
children of those in the military. Please bring both to the February 6th
presbytery meeting. Thank you.
